Canadian Railroads > and on this day in 2007, we were "stalked"

Northbound out of Williams Lake BC and we had a stalker following the train. Turned out to be TO member BCR4601. Anyhow, I got some pictures of him taking pictures of us. Doug

Thanks for posting this unique series of photos. Not too often that one gets to see simultaneous photos from two perspectives, especially from, I am assuming at the time, of people not known to each other.

Always liked the BCRail. Last time we were along the BCRail our family stayed in Lillooet at the Mile O Motel in a second floor, trackside room. My daughters were around 5 and 8 years old and had a blast watching the southbound train go by our balcony that night. The cars were practically within arms reach of the railing.

Actually I knew all along who was out chasing the train. I met Dale, BCR4601 many years ago. We were stopped for a meet at Greening siding and a vehicle pulled up and three fellows got out taking pictures. I detrained and introduced myself and chatted with them and they chased our train for awhile. Despite the different locations that we live, Dale and I struck a friendship and have kept in touch, he visiting in Williams Lake were I lived, and Dale generously inviting me along on some railfan trips to the USA. His handle is BCR4601, there is story to that, and it seemed every-time he was out railfanning the real BCR 4601 was on the rails and in his viewfinder. Just a sidebar to the thread and some of the wonderful people met along the way. Doug
