I will ride it this summer. I will not rely entirely on the snack cart and bring a lot of food as I have quite a vivacious appetite on a long train rides. Which "half" of the train is busier and tends to exceed 1 coach ? Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/22/15 07:42 by joemvcnj. The scenery toward Jonquiere is spectacular, and there is a substantial urban area at the northern terminus. (former Quebec and Lake St.John Railway , later CN) The line to Senneterre goes through some fine and very remote scenery too. Senneterre has good motels in reasonable taxi distance to the station. This line is a former transcontinental route (National Transcontinental/Grand Trunk Pacific, later CN) now partially abandoned between Senneterre QC and Cochrane ON, and west of Cochrane to Nakina ON. What is the general passenger composition of the train? Being that it originates and terminates in Quebec, is it largely a "French speak" train - per say? And if the scenery is spectacular, shy doesn't VIA try to rotate a dome car on these trains. It would seem that VIA could have a descent marketing plan to put a dome car on and market it like the Skeena (sorry "train to Prince Rupert). |
