CP #100 Eastbound on the Shuswap Sub
Author: Train611

Hello out there...

Well, I managed to hear this is CP Train 100 CP9715 East. Kamloops departure time today around 1010hrs.

1. 9715 and 9503 head up a total of 318 axles eastbound.

2. Around MP124.5 the train has a clear signal ahead, and will pass a waiting CP Coal train. (assuming it is a westbound loaded)

3. Mid-train 8601 works as it passes by. This train is not a long one compared to some.

Perhaps our TO poster "KickingHorse" will catch this one later today.

Take care

611

Good looking train 611.

Well If it's departing Kamloops at 10:10 (11:10 MT) methinks it will pass through here in the middle of the night.

Those two head end locomotives: is CP using a different shade of red on their repaints (the second unit in the consist of the photo) or does it just not have the inch (oops, couple centimeters) of grime on them that that lead unit has?

Geeky train operations comment: looks like they must double the head end of that train out of the intermodal facility at Coquitlam on top of the DP engine and rest of the train from the ports. Looks like international containers from the ports behind the DP with domestic stuff on the headend?

100 is mostly (if not all) domestic traffic - blocks of Calgary, Toronto and Lachine (Montreal) cars.
The train is set as 2 chunks at VIF (Pitt Meadows) so the train crew noses onto one track with the remote, runs around to the other end and doubles the tracks together.
