Canadian Railroads > CSX and NS leaders in a half hour period

This afternoon CN sent three interesting trains through Montreal West during a half hour period, two of them with foreign leaders.

First off is CN 323 is returning to Montreal a day later than usual with CSXT 4001 and CSXT 454 as power. Usually CN 324 goes from Montreal to St. Albans, VT and comes back as CN 323 on the same day. However last night CN 324's crew spent the night in St. Albans and returned back a day later. I find these SD40-3's fairly hideous looking, but they are different!

Next up was CN 527 coming by on the transfer track with CN 2270 solo, long hood forward. CN 527 is a local transfer which has long hood forward leaders from time to time. It was funny seeing one today, as I just posted about this topic yesterday (http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?15,3669246).

About 7-8 minutes later was CN 529 with NS 2703 and CN 5556. CN 529 is the CN symbol for what is known as CP 931 on CP tracks. CP brings it to Rouses Point, NY, where CN picks it up and brings it to Taschereau Yard in Montreal.

Thanks. These were all taken from the St-Jacques overpass in Montreal West, Qc. I use a Nikon D5100 with a Sigma 18-255 mm lens.
