Canadian Railroads > Back to the Michael Berry overpassDate: 03/19/15 17:41 Back to the Michael Berry overpass Author: Mberry For the third straight evening I've been able to shoot a freight after work on what local railfans have dubbed the 'Michael Berry overpass' in my honour. As I did on Tuesday I was able to shoot CN 323, but this time with foreign power. Here it passes through Montreal West at about 6:30 PM, with the fading light illuminating the nose of the lead unit nicely. The full lashup is NS 7623, NS 9242 and CN 5541. This power came into Montreal on CN 529 from Rouses Point, NY a couple of days ago. Thanks to KG for the headsup, as he shot it at Cantic a couple of hours earlier.

For those of us who once lived in Montreal and still have a vague recollection of local geography, can you identify the street on the Michael Berry overpass and where the overpass is located? (I could not resist trying the new text formatting features) Neil Date: 03/20/15 18:56 Re: Back to the Michael Berry overpass Author: Mberry WP17 Wrote:

It is on the border of Montreal West and what was the town of Ville St-Pierre (now part of Lachine). Specifically where St-Jacques street crosses the CN Montreal Sub, down the hill from Montreal West town hall. |
