The C40-8 Standard Cab - CN's Used Power
Author: chatnoir

I'm sure a lot of us were pleasantly surprised when word surfaced that CN would be acquiring these from UP.  A break in the wide-cab onslaught was welcome.  Here are six of them..

1. Apr 26, 2013 -  At Hamilton, ON, 2126 leads a multi-unit lash-up eastbound through Bayview Jct.

2. Oct 18, 2014 - Still in UP colours, 2021 slips off the Dundas Sub at Bayview.

3. Oct 19, 2014 - After lifting loads at Paris West, 2012 is pulling hard on 331 at Canning, ON.

4. Feb 6, 2015 - Highballing through Woodstock, 2120 west and a CSX sister sear the rails on this sub sub zero day.

5. Feb 8, 2015 - That red nose on 2105 east at Copetown, is accented by the overnight snow that layers its surroundings.

6. Mar 1, 2015 - CN must have faith in the reliability of 2004, pictured here at Copetown as solo power on 144, the Roadrailer.

Sweet bunch! That center beam load in five sure looks like it's rocking big time!

Great shots of some of my favorite current CN units.

I like the 2000-2029 with the pointed noses vs 2030-2041 & 2100's with the flat nose.
