Michael Date: 03/30/15 13:59 Re: MLW Monday HR-616 Author: M-420 On one of my trips to Montreal in the 80’s I happened tocatch HR616 2102 leading a couple of M636’s westbound. The train made a stop at
Dorval for some reason and I took the opportunity to climb up into the cab to have a look at the BBD unit. I spoke to the crew a bit, and asked the engineer what he thoughtof the big striped beast. He looked at me and said: “Friend, This thing couldn’t pull the hat off your head…”.Obviously, he was less than impressed with the HR. Here is that same train a little later asit sprints westbound out of Montreal on 7-5-87. Up front are BBD HR616 2102 and a pair of MLW M-636's (2323-2327) Brian E Date: 03/30/15 14:37 Re: MLW Monday HR-616 Author: cn6218 m420 Wrote:

I haven't been in the cabs of all that many locomotives, but my one visit to an HR-616 impressed me with its roominess. Seemed much more spacious than the GP40-2Ls or even SD75I cabs I've been in. There was a lot of space behind the control stand. GTD Date: 03/31/15 19:34 Re: MLW Monday HR-616 Author: 4489 Mberry Wrote:
