Canadian Railroads > A good morning for shiny GE'sDate: 04/19/15 12:59 A good morning for shiny GE's Author: Mberry If you like shiny GE's, then Montreal near Turcot West was the place to be this morning as CN sent two eastbounds along the Montreal sub during a 40 minute period that both had spotless GE leaders, one brand new and one repainted.
In the first two shots, CN 704 is slowly departing Turcot West after getting a new crew on a sunny morning. Power is a brand new ES44AC and a somewhat older one (CN 2926 & CN 2879). Of note is that CN 2926 was renumbered from CN 3026 recently. The third shot shows CN 120 through Ville St-Pierre about a mile to the west with repainted Dash9-44CW CN 2616 leading CN 5712 & CN 2314. Surprisingly enough it was repainted without the addition of CN's website on the long hood, which is normally added to repaints. I am not sure why it was repainted, I assume it was involved in a wreck - anyone have any information? Michael Berry Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/19/15 13:18 by Mberry. Wonder what brought that about (fire ?) as it is pretty unusual to see a repainted CN Dash 9.
