MLW Monday - SLQ 3569 at Exporail
Author: Mberry

SLQ 3569 is an M420W built as CN 2569 by Montreal Locomotive Works in 1976 and renumbered to CN 3569 in 1987. It was sold to the St. Lawrence & Atlantic where it kept the same number and they donated it to Exporail where it now resides. Also visible in the second shot is a number of pieces of passenger equipment, including an ex-AMT car and a pair of CP RDC's at left and an ex-CN MU car at right. This shot was taken yesterday morning.

Imagine if they'd lasted.  How would an M-420 look in G&W orange?

Interesting point - out of all the various G&W shortlines, I don't think one has ever operated an M420W.

G&W still operate some Alco powered locomotives down under. The last to receive a full overhaul was in 2013.
