All kinds of secondhand leaders
Author: Mberry

CN sent three trains in quick succession on the CN Montreal sub this afternoon, all with leaders that were secondhand in one form or another.

First up was CN 394 for Richmond, Qc with an ex-UP SD90 (NS 7301, ex-UP 8073) that NS acquired secondhand quite recently. As per Frank's post, this power came into Montreal on CN 529, an NS run-through train. While the power was elephant style on CN 529, it was wyed as the power on CN 394 must be back to back. The reason for this is there is no way to wye the power at Richmond.

Next up was CN 401 with CN 2187 (ex-BNSF 851, nee ATSF 851) leading CN 2546 & CN 4789.

It was followed by CN 323 (shot a few miles west in Lachine) with CN 2102 solo (ex-UP 9067, nee CNW 8555).
