Canadian Railroads > Double tail end DPU and a visitorDate: 05/14/15 12:23 Double tail end DPU and a visitor Author: eminence_grise We headed out to photograph the RMR with CN SD60 5472. While we waited at Chase a grain train arrived with 8862 leading an AC4400CW, and tail end remotes 9620 and 8606. Last week it was stated in a thread about CN and CP train lengths that there might be rules that would not allow double tail end DPU, as we can see this is not the case.

Hi Phil, Why are the double deck cars in the middle of the train please?? Is this the train from Vancouver where the Banff and Jasper split for there run the following day or is the in the morning going east?? I saw a photo the other day also with the Double deck cars in the middle at Banff I think also.. Any ideas at all please?? I though they were on the rear east of Kamloops.. Cheers Brian in New Zealand.. The train was not heavily loaded, indicating that the eastbound train was probably heavily loaded. Big trains are often related to the arrival and departure of cruise ships into Vancouver. Several large tour companies do a combined cruise, train and bus tour itinerary.
