Bridge Work
Author: FJ

Some list members might be interested by this.  Work has begun on the Central Maine & Quebec drawbridge at St-Jean Qc.  This is an old bridge and apparently not too many are still in operation in North America, with such mechanism.  Ties and rails were replaced.  Milepost 20 just behind me is where Canadian Pacific trackage to Montreal begins. Next time I visit the bridge tender, I will take some photos inside.  Leonard, the former bridge tender hired by Canadian Pacific in the 50's, retired a couple of years ago.  He showed me a log book with all those trains listed for the last 50 years. Impressive.
