Another CN 327 chase - this time with CSX power
Author: Mberry

Judging by Frank's post, he picked up where I left off on CSX's Montreal subdivision yesterday, as I chased CN 327 from Dorval to Huntingdon, where a CN crew split the train into two and left in in two sidings for the CSX crew (CN 326 hadn't arrived yet). CN 327 had two CSX AC units (AC4400CW CSXT 5106 and SD70MAC CSXT 4817) and it was a beautiful day, making for a very productive chase.

1-Through Dorval on CN's Kingston sub.

2-Crossing the Ottawa River and leaving the island of Montreal.

3-On the wye at Coteau that 327 takes to leave the Kingston sub for CN's Valleyfield sub.

4-Passing the switch indicator in Valleyfield after waiting for the nearby Larocque bridge to go down.

5-Crossing the Beauharnois canal on the Larocque Bridge which is used by both cars and CSXT (this is their Montreal subdivision). As can be seen in the distance this is a lift bridge, in fact both cars and CN 327 had been delayed by a boat just before.

6-Approaching Huntingdon.

7-Throwing the switch in Huntingdon to pull into the siding.

8-Approaching the derail on the siding.

9-After putting the second half of the train in the other siding, the conductor lines the switch for the main.
