Canadian Railroads > A couple of trains in St-Henri

Last night I went to the St-Henri neighbourhood of Montreal and shot a couple of trains. First was VIA 902 leading VIA 39 over the De Courcelle crossing. VIA 39 was bound for Fallowfield in suburban Ottawa. Next was CN 2238 & CN 2535 leading CN X321. The third shot shows some poles on the train as well as gondolas, the latter being very common on this train.

Nice crisp shot of VIA 902.  It's too bad 902 lost its distinctive paint scheme variation.

Are you referring to it being previously in a green-tinged scheme? I know at least one other VIA P42DC still can be seen in this scheme.

No. The 902 had an additional green stripe above the yellow side sill stripe.  No other P42 was painted that way.  I always liked the way it looked.

The first coach looks a lot more polished up that the other two, like it just rode off the Red Lion assembly plant.

It appears the repaint was at least 4 years ago, because none of my digital photos show the green stripe.
