Canadian Railroads > LRCs, Rens and Stainless Steel but no buses.Date: 06/24/15 08:24 LRCs, Rens and Stainless Steel but no buses. Author: moonliter Yesterday Ottawa had it all, LRCs, Rens and stainless steel trains. To my knowledge this has not occurred since February of last year. Despite the dark and threatening clouds I had to to catch the Ren consist one more time. I set up my tripod at the Ramsayville Road crossing and waited for VIA 33 to appear. A hour later, nothing. Now it was time for me to reposition as VIA 50 should be coming from the opposite direction. From the chatter on the scanner VIA 50 was to meet the late 33 at Casselman ON. Twenty minutes later a very late VIA 33 appeared but now under sunny skies.
During the past month I have been taking Transitway photos around Ottawa Station. The bus stop is called Train. This will be the first section of the Transitway other than a slight re-route downtown for tunnel construction that will be taken out of service to start on the conversion to light rail. My hope today was to catch VIA 52 and a OC Transpo bus together but no such luck, maybe tomorrow. Gerry Gaugl Ottawa ON Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/24/15 08:28 by moonliter. The 96 will leave and jump on the Transitway at Hurdman. It will pass in front of Ottawa Station via Tremblay Road on its way to and from St Laurent. There will also be a new route, passing in front of the VIA station, the 92. They are used on the Ocean to Halifax and have only been used on the Montréal- Quebec City services for the past year and a half, yesterday was an exception. Last Friday I was through the station and a ticket agent who knows that I like trains ( more than the regular passengers) mentioned to me the a Ren consist would be showing up on Tuesday (23rd) but did not know any more than that. I be travelling through the station this weekend again and will ask again. Gerry Gaugl Ottawa ON |
