Canadian Railroads > MLW Monday SLQ 2001Date: 07/27/15 05:22 MLW Monday SLQ 2001 Author: kgmontreal In 1998 when Canadian National spun off its former Grand Trunk (Eastern) line to Portland, Maine, the property was divided into two sections. From the border south to Portland the new carrier was known as the St Lawrence & Atlantic. The former CN Sherbrooke sub from the border north to Richmond became the Chemin de Fer Saint Laurent & Atlantique Quebec. Power for the new shortline was three GP40 and ten M-420(W) units. Company colours were yellow and black.
In this photo taken in May 2001 SLQ 3517, ex-CN 3517, ex-CN 2517 and 3579 CN's last M-420(W) are shown at Richmond awaiting duty on the wayfrieght to Windsor Mills and Lennoxville.
