Tree trimming at Exporail
Author: Mberry

On Saturday morning at Exporail (in St-Constant, Qc), I caught GP9 CP 1608, on its way to the Des Bouleaux spur to do some tree trimming. This spur is where they run a passenger train on Sunday's a very short distance.

1-CN 1382 is in the middle of this photo, lashed up to AMT 827; this is the consist for the Sunday-only passenger train. At left in front of Barrington Station is CP 4237, with CP 4563 behind it.

3-Returning from the spur and crossing the diamond.

4-CP 1608 is running long hood forward and has just cleared the diamond in front of Barrington Station at Exporail. MTC 1959 is finishing its station stop and will soon continue its trip around the museum grounds.

That looks like the world-famous mileage collector John Godfrey there in the dark shirt.  I've heard he's also been known to be interviewed by the news media when they need an official to explain how rail tanker cars can sometimes run very fast downhill.
