The 3 seaters, such as they are, are low back, and all mounted bowling alley style.

They have lots of UTDC-style and NJT-style bi-level cars for capacity, so they relegate these "Comet" cars to the low density lines, like Candiac, so why the need for this rapid transit style interior ?

This is how the railways are increasing service by getting more passengers (STANDING in car) on top of the same detiorating track and the same number of trains. We have exactly the same observations and bewilderment from the travelling public here in Melbourne.
