Canadian Railroads > MLW Monday-#23 Hits TownDate: 11/16/15 09:55 MLW Monday-#23 Hits Town Author: arwye After an all Friday night drive in Bryan's van, arriving at Lillooet in the early hours of Saturday morning, we'd check in with the Operator, who by our July trips would exclaim " what???? you guys here again!", and then give us the morning line up. First to arrive from North Vancouver was #23, always in good light for the chase up to Pavillion. So here on this Saturday morning are M630-W's 726 & 730 leading. With only eight of the six motor wide cabs on BCR, they soon became our favourites. As the crew bails for Lillooet's bunkhouse enjoy 25% of the roster. Richard Yaremko

I am liking all of the details visible in this photo. The old depot, The van, a box spotted on the station spur and of course, a CNR C630 in the consist. The M630W's were not particularly popular with many of the BCR crews I spoke with. They didn't like the visibility and the ride of the wide noses. It was odd, because on the north end of the system, the M420's were quite popular with the guys up there and they had the same cab as the 630's. Thanks for sharing this one. Brian E |
