40 minutes at the CN bridge...
Author: Train611

HELLO,

We had a little sun around Kamloops today, so I went to a favourite location to see if there was any activity. There was!
Betweeen 1300 and 1340hrs. the following trains used the bridge.

1. CN109 with 2519 & 5714 leading a container train west.

2. CN2303 & CN5719 lead an empty potash train eastbound into the yard and a crew change.

3. CN5613 & CN2123 making the final switching moves with CN119, which will then head west.

Thanks for looking, and hopefully it starts getting a little warmer.

Take care,

611

Nice location, time well spent. I'm guessing the bridge gets a lot of traffic.
Before directional running I'm thinking it would see very little traffic. My visit was before directional running, I think I have a photo of a local heading toward the bridge.

HI,
Thank you for the comments.

Trains using this bridge are CN; Via and Rocky Mountaineer in the summer season.
There is a CP-CN coal train exchange one or two times a week.

However the directional running westbound starts at Basque on CN MP56 on the Ashcroft Sub. (CP on to CN)
Eastbound CN trains cross from CP to CN at Basque.

Thanks, my mistake. I should have caught that. I quite liked Kamloops when I visited but that was many years ago.
Obviously, another road trip is in order.

The CN North Thompson Bridge is outside of usual directional running territory, which starts west of Ashcroft.
