Canadian Railroads > GO Transit remaining F59sDate: 02/02/16 07:57 GO Transit remaining F59s Author: newtonville150 A surprise on my morning commute, F59s top and tail. This is a Stouffville line train that I pick up at Danforth. Not normally a job for F59s. I can only assume that equipment was out of position due to last evenings fatality at Bramalea, which led to a Kitchener line train being cancelled. How many F59s are left? I think just four, but I'm not sure.

There is no roof on them so one must wonder what exactly is the point? Mabye a plan to cover them someday?

A current controversy is they are trying to figure out how to accommodate clearance for overhead wires when they electrify the lines. Also the train shed is apparently a heritage structure, so they're limited in what they can do to it. Date: 02/02/16 14:10 Re: GO Transit remaining F59s Author: rschonfelder Those are nice looking locos. I've always liked them and during the era when the F's were just hanging on, it was a neat time to see the GO trains.
And the Leafs were .... (Oh, never mind; they weren't winning then either). Rick Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/02/16 14:11 by rschonfelder. Date: 02/02/16 14:41 Re: GO Transit remaining F59s Author: railfan400 How much clearance is required for catenary?
