Over the end of the Lachine canal
Author: Mberry

The Pointe St-Charles switcher is heading towards interchange with the Port of Montreal with a single tank car in tow yesterday afternoon. GP9's CN 7272 & CN 4141 lead this short train over the eastern end of the Lachine canal. In the foreground is one of the canal's locks.

Is the rail bridge a swing or draw to clear for water traffic?

Neither. There is no commercial traffic on the entire Lachine canal and very little non-commercial traffic at this end of the canal.

A better view of the bridge can be in this recent post of mine.
