Canadian Railroads > AMT cancels Bombardier car order

Bombardier, the only responder to what is essentially an RFP for a repeat order, apparently took too many exceptions to the requirements for the AMT's liking:

Must have been a huge problem in the order.  Bombardier is a national treasure, and its interests are not to be taken lightly.

Congratulations to AMT.  It will be interesting to see what happens next.

It is about time agencies stood up to Bombardier and told them to "get stuffed."

Billions in government subsidies, and they still can't get things done properly ... but want even more subsidies!

Don't get me wrong, I want to see Canadian companies win Canadian contracts, but not if they are going to operate like these bozoes!

look how they've botched the Toronto LRV orders...

BBD also botched the first 3 NYCT R179 carbodies, which had to be scrapped.
47- 52 year old R42 and R32 cars are getting a light overhaul to keep them going.
