FM-Friday Eastbound at Burmis Alberta
Author: arwye

Labour Day of 1973 saw a couple of us spend our holiday weekend chasing FM power in the Crowsnest Pass, an easy drive down from Calgary. Here we see #4057 working its way eastbound out of the pass at Burmis Alberta. Richard Yaremko

The eastern slope of Crownest Pass is strikingly similar to the next railroad crossing of the Continental Divide to the south, Marias Pass.

The GN served the western slope of the Crowsnest until the 1930's, and in the early 1900's, the Milwaukee plotted a route, so did the Grand Trunk Pacific and the Canadian Northern.
