Calgary's "I.Y.O" Industrial Yard Office. 1975
Author: eminence_grise

A few blocks east of CP's Calgary passenger depot on 9th Avenue was the "Industrial Yard Office" and a small freight and passenger car yard that served industries in downtown Calgary. Closed fairly recently, the area of the yard has become valuable real estate and many of the industries it served have moved or closed down.

In the 1970's, it was still busy, and included a selection of CP's yard locomotives. The first image shows an MLW S-10, an MLW S-3 and a GMD SW900.
Another SW900 is shown switching in the yard.

A passenger service ice-refrigerator car has been re-numbered for maintenance of way service, on account of "Leaky Tanks-Heater Service Only"

The IYO was also a location where interesting passenger equipment was sometimes stored.
