Canadian Railroads > CN Operations in Northern BC?Date: 06/17/16 17:22 CN Operations in Northern BC? Author: loleta Does anyone out there have current info on when CN operates between Fort St. John and Fort Nelson? Last I heard (two years ago), it was north on Saturday, switch Fort Nelson Sunday, make up the southbound train Monday, head south Tuesday. But I'd like some more recent information: it's a long way to go for nothing. Here's a photo of CN 6000 leaving Fort St. John with a northbound ballast train in 2010.
Thanks in advance, Loleta Fernbridge Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/17/16 17:44 by loleta. Date: 06/19/16 16:48 Re: CN Operations in Northern BC? Author: roustabout We went through Fort Nelson on the Saturday before Victoria Day, on the way to Alaska. The yard looked like a ghost town other than a 50' flat tied down on the switch going into the yard (see pic). And there was a red flag for southbound movement on the far side of it as shown in the pic. We came through Ft Nelson from Alaska on June 2nd and found a single unit there, but didn't take time to photograph it.

There appears to be one or two TO subscribers that travel though the area to Alaska or work way up there, there's a few reports from the past in the archives. Always interested in the stories but haven't been and don't expect to be there for a few more years. Hope there's something left to run by then. Date: 06/21/16 16:58 Re: CN Operations in Northern BC?
