Canadian Railroads > CN Spadina Engine Facility - June 1972Date: 07/19/16 23:48 CN Spadina Engine Facility - June 1972 Author: refarkas It is 4:54 P.M. on a weekday afternoon in June 1972 in Toronto, Ontario. This was my one-and-only time at the Royal York Hotel, and I had asked for a room overlooking the tracks. Here is a view of the CN Spadina Engine Facility and yard. If you look closely, you can see CN MLW FPA-4's, RDC's, switch engines, passenger cars, freight cars, the coaling tower, and track arrangement. In the distance is bumper-to-bumper traffic heading westbound out of downtown Toronto.
Years later when I spent several vacations in Toronto, I stayed at a University of Toronto dormitory where they rented weekly rooms during the summer. The view wasn't anywhere as good, but the room rates were about as inexpensive as could be found in Toronto. Bob Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/19/16 23:49 by refarkas.
