Canadian Railroads > rogers pass and spiral tunnels questionDate: 07/20/16 17:36 rogers pass and spiral tunnels question Author: leonz Just as a general question;
In the event of a massive tunnel failure in either of the spiral tunnels or the rogers pass tunnels or both would CP contemplate using the old overland route with modern snow sheds? Date: 07/20/16 18:27 Re: rogers pass and spiral tunnels question Author: Lackawanna484 CP has used CN's line on some occasions in the past, and has its own alternate route via the Crowsnest Pass, almost on the US border.

It's amazing how many cubic yards of money can be shoveled at major problems when needed, just look at UP versus the Cascade slide a few years back.
