Two More Mornings of 407
Author: cn6218

The fine weather in Nova Scotia has continued this week, although 120 still eludes me.  407, on the other hand was a bit like shooting fish in a barrel.  After starting Tuesday with a shot of 407 crossing the Shubenacadie River (3 units, 40 cars), I moved a few miles east to the signals at mile 40 for these two shots from Wednesday.  The GP38-2W I had seen on Tuesday wasn't on the train yesterday, but the two GEs had 54 cars as they rolled away from Milford at close to 60 mph.  The train was running about 15 minutes later than it had the previous day.

This morning, 407 was crossing the river (about mile 42.5) within a minute of the time they had been there two days previously.  The scene is quite similar except for the light cloud cover and lower tide in the river.  This time the detector at mile 44 counted 196 axles, for a total of 46 cars.
