Sunshine, blue skies and shiny units
Author: kgmontreal

Quebec Gatineau keeps their power spotless.  From the shine on the units you's swear they've been waxed.  What a contrast with the filthy CPR GEs we see in Montreal.

They must have a mechanical foreman and/or general manager that actually takes pride in what their equipment looks like. My hat is off to them. Wish more short lines had that mentality. Sure looks so much nicer than an oil covered, rusty, mismatched paint job rolling in to service one of your customers.

It appears that have figured out that if you don't let them get filthy, they're much easier to keep clean!

In my mechanical days one mentor said "keep 'em clean...you find any leaks sooner!"

Certainly sends a message at level crossings! Positive or negative!
