MLW Monday-A PGE Whatzit?
Author: arwye

Pacific Great Eastern 569 in a very short lived ( less than four years) appearance. Suffering wreck damage after hitting a logging truck sometime in 1969-70, it was rebuilt with a RS10/18 short hood in 1970 and photographed by "unknown" at North Vancouver shortly after.
By 1974 she was rebuilt again with a low hood and British Columbia Railway paint. I found this rare gem on eBay. Richard Yaremko

Not a RS10/18 short hood, not tall enough. But it looks like the shop used the design when they built theirs.

BCR time table shows the 569 & 570 as MRS16 but another source shows them as RS3. To confuse things BCR time table #1 April 30, 1972 shows the 569 as RS 16. Doug

Interesting photo to be sure.  I don't remember ever seeing a photo of the wreck repaired nose before.  Also unusual is the carbody filter arrangement just before the radiator.
