I'd like more of your help on captions.

1. CN 1508 in Alberta in May 1985.  This one was a few slides before the Lac La Biche slides.

2. CN 5288 in Alberta in May 1985.  Taken around Edmonton.

Number 3 looks to me like Edson Alberta, near the east end of town with a pair of eastbounds...but I'm not 100 % sure on that.

In photo 2, interesting use of a dummy mast, and yet there is a signal at the base of the main mast for the near track. Don't think I've seen that kind of a set up before.

#1 is Edmonton, looks like a train nearing East Junction.
#2 is the siding at Leaman on the Edson Sub, looking west (train is eastbound).
#3 is Edson, shot from the highway 16 overpass looking to the west.

That dummy mast was unique, we called them "doll arms" and i have no idea if that was a local (NYC-PC-Conrail) thing for where I work at...but I knew what it meant immediately.
Sometimes there are some "universal" truths about railroading, regardless of where you are!
Sadly I can't help with any locations, but I SO appreciate you going to the trouble of scanning this and other stuff. It's one of the main reasons I re-upped my subscription this year.
