Canadian Railroads > CN and CP questionDate: 10/18/16 12:51 CN and CP question Author: mcfflyer Friends, I was just asked a question that I don't know the answer of. On the nose of CN locomotives, there is a green circle with either a horizontal line or a vertical line on it. On modern CP locomotives, there's a square green patch with a square in it with a cross, horizontal and vertical pattern. Just what is the purpose of those decals? I did a Google search but came up empty.
Thanks in advance! Lee Hower - Sacramento Date: 10/18/16 13:05 Re: CN and CP question Author: CCMF Signifies the location of the stretcher, a requirement in Canada.

Okay, I figured it had to do something with ecology or health, but why the differences? What does the horizontal or vertical line in the circle on CN units represent, and why is it a square with cross on it on CP? Seems like they'd all be universal. Thanks! Because CN will never do something the same way CP does! Date: 10/18/16 19:19 Re: CN and CP question Author: LKeithR PHall Wrote:

Although, to be fair, I don't thnk there's a "standard" for that marking, only the requirement that it be there. If you look through a first aid catalogue there are a lot of items that are represented by multiple decals... Keith Robertson Langley, BC Date: 10/20/16 21:44 Re: CN and CP question Author: Ron |
