Built in 1988, they were in the CP 9000-9024 series. They were unique on CP for their full width carbody. http://www.cpr.ca/en/surplus-inventory Date: 10/25/16 13:16 Re: CP intends to dump remaining SD40-2F's Author: kgmontreal I presume CMQ picked the best ten for their purchase last year.

Posted from Android Date: 10/26/16 19:28 Re: CP intends to dump remaining SD40-2F's Author: Thumper They were returned to GMD in London due
to problems mentioned at the time. Something about the wrist pins (((in a machine) a stud projecting from a crank as an attachment for a connecting rod)) being manufactured from poor material; and the prime movers were repaired under warranty. CP was not happy and went to General Electric for their next order of new locomotives; suspect the wrist pin incident did not enamour General Motors to CP. |
