Canadian Railroads > MLW Monday Coming and Going in 1979Date: 11/21/16 03:33 MLW Monday Coming and Going in 1979 Author: kgmontreal The parallel CN and CP mainlines from Lachine to Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue along the western part of Montreal Island have long been a favorite location for rail enthusiasts. Three overpasses that offer good views of the railways cross the tracks along the way. The western most of these connects the north and south campuses of McGill University's MacDonald College.
In the first shot an eastbound CP Rail piggyback train, either #928 or #930, heads for the Lachine terminal behind an MLW C-424, RS-18, C-424 lashup. Stepping to the other side of the overpass produced a photo of a westbound CN freight behind a pair of MLW C-630M units. True enough the trains are "coming and going" sadly the units are long gone. Doug
