MLW Monday 1973
Author: kgmontreal

In the spring of 1973 this trio of MLWs, an FA-2 and two RS10 units, pulled eastbound freight through de Beaujeu, Quebec on the Winchester sub.  The two trailing units were equipped with steam generators for passenger service, the cab unit was not.

This captures the early 1970's so well. How easy it is to forget how we had to photograph around pole lines and their shadows. Great photo.

That is a marvelous image and a time capsule, and I can't even claim nostalgia on this one. I started shooting trains in 1975 on a pitiful Brownie 127, and moved up to a Pentax for slides in 1976. I never saw an FA run; I think some were still active, but were mostly tied up by Spring 1977. What's weird is to think "I never saw these because I'm a youngster", and then realize I'm 61 years old. Time flies; thanks for posting this one.
