Trimming along the ROW in Montreal West
Author: Mberry

I headed to Montreal West late this morning to hopefully shoot a CN 529 which I knew was coming (it has an aggravating habit of sometimes terminating in Southwark Yard in St-Lambert) and was surprised to see that the brush had been cleared along the south side of the ROW along CN's Montreal Sub. Thankfully I was able to see CN 529 this time.

1-VIA 35 from Quebec City to Ottawa is westbound.

2&3-Evidence of the clearing.

4-SD60E NS 7027 (rebuilt from SD60 NS 6654 in April 2016) is leading CN 529 as it rounds a curve at Turcot West with only 21 cars in tow. Trailing is SD70M-2 NS 2710.

The first of the tracks being relocated closer to the escarpment is in place and meets the main line at the temporary switch visible at the left side of Michael's photos. The second track is currently being laid down there.
