Canadian Railroads > What Can You Tell Me About These 6 Please

Roger Puta shot these in Dwecwember 1981.  Because he was using two cameras I can not tell if these were all thge same day or even the sequence they were shot.

1. VIA 6512
2. VIA 6769
3. and 4. VIA 6793
5. VIA Château Argenson sleeping car
6. 2 trains

#5 is taken at Field, BC.  The depot is on the left side of the frame.

Would the train be the Canadian?  If so in which direcrtion?

Yes, this is the Canadian.  The picture is taken facing RR east.  I can't tell for certain if this is the eastbound #2, or westbound #1.  

The 1981 VIA timetable shows the westbound was due in to Field at 14:55, and the eastbound at 16:55, so I would hazard a guess that this is the westbound based on the amount of light out in December in the picture.  

Shots 2, 3, 4 and 6 are Brockville, Ontario.

.......And probably the combined #2 Canadian, #44 Capital, #54 Lakeshore splitting out the through cars that would continue to Ottawa behind 6793 that was sitting on the track behind the station.

This was during the time the Canadian ran via the Kingston Subdivision between Toronto and Montreal with the through cars from Vancouver added to a corridor train.....including the Park Car.

I'm pretty sure Image 1 is the eastbound "Canadian" at White River ON on CP.
