I love them both, but the second one is a real killer as far as I'm concerned; the going-away shot usually is a little less than completely satisfying, but the light, the blur, and the swirling snow are spectacular. Great post!

Great combination!  RDCs and snow scenes are two of my favorite kinds of train photos.

Wow!  Great photos, and especially that second one along the highway (Highway 4?).  I've never seen a photo of a train at that angle!  Well done, Gary!

Thanks Lee.

You’re close......it’s Trans Canada 104 but it will revert to Highway 4 when a new highway (probably tolled) opens between Sutherlands River and Antigonish.

Here’s a couple of other shots at Marshy Hope and it is a particularly scenic location in the fall.
