TTC Thursday - TTC 4703
Author: refarkas

Here is a color PCC photo to go with the black and white TTC images posted earlier today.
TTC 4703 sits outside the Roncesvalles carbarn in Toronto on September 13, 1969.

So did anyone answer why the green light up front?  This was asked a few weeks ago and don't recall seeing a reply.

Above the destination roll sign(s).  All TTC streetcars had them and continue to have them.

The story I have heard for the green lights is people would see the green light and know it's a TTC streetcar from further away as opposed to a truck or other vehicle.

Maybe the light is multi color and green means the car will stop for passegers and a red light mean car is full and will not pick up passengers.
