VIA Canada-150 paint scheme F40PH-3 visits West Coast
Author: Marcus

VIA’s specially painted F40PH-3 6454 is visiting the West Coast this weekend.
This is the first locomotive with the Canada 150th anniversary paint scheme to make it to the western end of the VIA Rail network.

1. VIA #1 is westbound along the Fraser River on the CN Yale Subdivision at Langley, B.C.
2. Now northbound on the CN New Westminster Subdivision at New Westminster, B.C.
3. Descending the Grandview Cut in Vancouver, about to go around the wye to back into Pacific Central station.

4. Backing into Pacific Central station, past the Vancouver Maintenance Centre.
5. VIA 6454 on arrival, only 3 hours late.

Very nice! Especially like the scheme on the F40s.

Ya know what? After the Canada 150 is done next year, if they were to just move that huge "VIA" back onto the long hood and drop the city names, I'd be ok with that.

"Only three hours late" says a lot about CN's regard for this train. Sad  when three hours late is considered a good thing given the multiple hours added to the schedule.

Of course you know exactly what caused the delay and it was avoidable I am sure!
