Canadian Railroads > MLW Monday - Twofer at EllwoodDate: 03/27/17 20:12 MLW Monday - Twofer at Ellwood Author: feclark I know I've posted this location before, and the sun isn't out, but I thought the meet would be interesting. VIA FPA-4 6762 leads Ottawa to Toronto #43 across Ellwood Diamond, at 1230 on April 7, 1987. Waiting in the distance is CP C-424 4213, on the point of Montreal to Ottawa #85. Its arrival was often around the time either or both of #43 and #1 would pass through here, so it made a nice lunchtime diversion.

Michael Date: 03/28/17 09:14 Re: MLW Monday - Twofer at Ellwood Author: kgmontreal 85/86 ran via the Lachute sub.

The building visible over #85 is the Arts Tower at Carleton University, which I attended for more than one degree, and I often got out at lunch to get the triple play: CP #85, VIA #1, VIA #43. I tended to be off the diamond for CP, because the poles were brutal. I have one scan planned for a future MLW Monday, so maybe I'll make it next week. We Montrealers have very few photos of 85/86. 85 usually left here after dark and 86 arrived at the crack of dawn. KG |
