European Railroad Discussion > London's Outer CircleDate: 11/27/12 00:21 London's Outer Circle Author: 86235 The Circle Line of London Underground has been a reality for over 120 years. On Sunday December 9th it is being joined by the London Overground's new outer circle with the opening of a brand new piece of railway linking Canada Water on the Overground's East London Line with Queens Road, Peckham on the South London Line, which will be transferred to Overground operation from the same date and diverted into Clapham Junction. So from Sunday week it will be possible to get a train from Clapham in SW London to Dalston in East London either via the South London Line or the North London Line, avoiding passage through Central London. This will also free up capacity at both London Bridge and Victoria which will no longer host the half hourly South London Line trains.
