New Yorker Emily Moser has written an interesting article about the railroad serving Chernobyl:

Starting with the beginnings of the line in the early Soviet days, to everyday use, to the 1986 disaster, and what is left today in the Exclusion Zone.

Emily is best known for her 'Ride the Harlem line' blog about New York City's ex-NYC and New Haven transit lines, as well as contributing to Railfan & Railroad magazine.
