European Railroad Discussion > train meet 08/07/14 at 1PM Almunge, SwedenDate: 08/10/14 07:01 train meet 08/07/14 at 1PM Almunge, Sweden Author: sventomas Made a brief visit to the remaining part of the former 200 miles SRJ narrow gauge network east of Uppsala, Sweden. In spite of extremely dry weather and fire warning, the ex BLJ No 5 was in front on the returning train to Faringe. I rode behind that engine in 1962 on the BLJ regular daily mixed train!

On the video below these seems to be a diesel loco that looks much like the one I spotted this summer in Luleå on normal gauge. It was stored at the Norrbottens Järnvägsmuseum, the largest train museum in Nordic countries (Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway and Iceland) Can you tell what type is this and who built it?

This one was for SRJ and 4 (or 5) similar went to DONJ, a logging line North of Gävle. They replaced the Mallets about 1955 and were normally run as multiple units.ASJ also built a number of electrical motors for the NKlJ narrow gauge.
