Berlin, but not InnoTrans, but DTMB
Author: E111

Beside InnoTrans, Berlin also features a great railway museum in the former shop of the Anhalter Bahnhof. During the cold war, the area was somewhat located in the no men's land and the museum, while having been heavily renovated, still sticks to this legacy as well. I hope those of you visiting InnoTrans had the opportunity to visit the DTMB (Deutsches Technik-Museum Berlin == German Museum of Technology, Berlin) as well. If you didn't this time, do it next time, but plan to spend at least half a day there.

What can you see there:
Picture 1: One of the icons of the German "Wirtschaftswunder", the V200
Picture 2: Really old stuff like this Breuer Schienentraktor
Picture 3: New prototype locomotives and old "Schienenbusse"

To be continued ...

A lot of these locomotives were definitely not there in 2010......

Picture 4: Very old steam engines (locomotive Beuth from 1844)
Picture 5: Old electrical units (E 71 28, built around 1920)
Picture 6: Heaps of first class large-scale models (DMU Vindibona scale 1:16)

And much more. You can have a look at the webpage of the museum at: http://www.sdtb.de/Rail-transport.1148.0.html

Have fun!

Thank you as always, E111, for your well-photographed and informative posts! DTMB is definitely on my list of things to see! And your photo of V 200 on the turntable is simply beautiful.

Excellent set of pictures E111, thank you! Cool to see another V200 besides the one at Innotrans!

Looks like it is definitely worth visiting, and not only for the equipment. The structures are visually interesting, and I like the water tower...

Thanks for the post.
