Europe in 1990
Author: 86235

In 1990, having just passed my driving test in November 1989, I set off on three European holidays to, respectively, Sweden, the Netherlands and Spain. As this was in pre-Channel Tunnel days I crossed the Channel by ferry; from Harwich to Gothenburg, Ramsgate to Dunkirk and Plymouth to Santander. In 2014 only the latter route is still operating.

The first picture was taken between Karlstad and Stockholm in April, the second approaching Delft at the end of May and the third at Ribadeo on the FEVE in Northern Spain in August.

There's a few more pictures here:

The image in Delft is changing - the track is being placed in a tunnel under the City and the old elevated structure will be removed soon. Also that '54 class emu rolling stock was my favorite, great shot of it at the end of its life!
