on the way back from Berchtesgarden i decided to make a short detour to Salzburg to see what was there Trolley Buses were at the main plaza near the station and a good cross section of OBB trains

Freilassing tower box the junction for the Berchtesgarden line

the original station with the new in mid afternoon

one of a number of freight trains seen that afternoon

typical european style trash bins the pronunciation of 'plastic' can be amusing

lots of color here both in rollingstock and architechture

also i seem to remember seeing this no trespassing past platforms icon to be reminiscent of a certain 1951 era Sci Fi movie

'Gort....klaatu barada nikto'

after my short stay i was on to Munich by Railjet the journey taking only 90 minutes

Wow. Lots of changes to the Salzberg station including what looks to be an entirely new train shed since my last visit only a few years ago.

Brings back memories of my visits to Salzburg. The religious congregation I belong to has a house there, in Aigen, about a block from the station of the same name.

I love that they have integrated the original train shed into to the new station (in the 2nd photo) however it is now overwelmed by the new structure.
