European Railroad Discussion > Portugal: EMU Recognition Help NeededDate: 01/02/15 11:18 Portugal: EMU Recognition Help Needed Author: McKey I got an interesting set of pictures from Portugal, but it looks like these are very hard to recognize to detail. EMUs might be of class 3150, 3200 or 3250, but which?
Thank you for any recognition help and info leading forward! Date: 01/02/15 12:03 Re: Portugal: EMU Recognition Help Needed Author: joemvcnj Are they a Budd licensee or spin-off ? They look like PATCO cars with a British shell.

They look like 3250, the 3150 has smooth sides not fluted like these. the 3200s were rebuilt to 3250s. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/02/15 12:16 by SOO6617. Yes built by Sorefame a Budd licensee, now a part of Alstom. Date: 01/02/15 23:26 Re: Portugal: EMU Recognition Help Needed Author: McKey This is an interesting find! Here is a throw of maybe another Budd design: http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?17,3621292
