The following message was received yesterday from Thorsten Klein. A rough English-language translation follows, with assistance from Google translator. As you can see we had some trouble with the final sentence - and - the "PS:"

Persons interested to join this charter should directly contact Marcus Dettenberg: marcus.dettenberg@web.de

Hello, Everyone. Happy New Year!

Together with Marcus Dettenberg, I would like to take this opportunity to announce the following event: On February 15, 2015, a steam photo charter is planned to operate on the Schwäbschen Alb Bahn (SAB) along the route Schelkingen-Münsingen-Kleinengstingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. (This area is located approximately 61 km / 38 miles south of Stuttgart, 51 km / 32 miles west of Ulm, Germany.)

The train will be an authentic provincial railroad steam train with the "Münsinger T3" and matching car (which must be transferred) on Sunday to let go (Mitfart the train). Price: € 195, because of the necessary transfer of the car.

Registration and details directly with Marcus Dettenberg: marcus.dettenberg@web.de

The deadline is January 10, 2015.

On Saturday, February 14, 2015, one could theoretically ride / photograph the RhB Engadin steam train, which is scheduled to operate between Samedan und Scuol-Tarasp, Graubünden, Switzerland, then travel in the evening to Ulm, Germany. Note: The RhB trackage is electrified (steam will operate under wires).

Greetings,
Thorsten

Gruss,
Thorsten

PS: bezgl. BRB kommen weitere Infos Mitte/Ende Januar.

There's a famous German folk song about the Swabian Railroad, although I don't think it is this line. It's sung in the Swabian dialect and is kind of fun, especially if one has had a few beers.

Some years ago I did a search and found a video or two of the song being sung with a video of the line. Search on: "Auf der schwäbsche Eisebahne".
